Ride comfort

Will the ride be harsh? Can I drive it every day?
Ride comfort depends on four things: spring rates, damping setting, ride height and tyres. It doesn’t depend on the series alone.
- ST — positioned by the manufacturer for comfort, with 30 damping settings
- RC — 30 damping settings, with spring rates chosen to suit your use
If you want a comfortable daily driver, tell us when you ask for free setup advice and we will suggest a series and spring rates.
Which spring rate feels closest to stock?
That depends on the car’s weight, your target ride height and how you drive, so no single number suits every car.
Each vehicle page will show front and rear spring rates once the manufacturer supplies them, and RC spring rates can be chosen to suit your use.
Send us your car and how you use it for free setup advice, and we will suggest suitable rates.
Will rear passengers bounce? Will my family be comfortable?
That depends on the rear spring rate, rear damping and how much load you carry.
If the rear keeps bouncing after a speed bump, try increasing rear damping 2–3 settings at a time.
If you often carry passengers or luggage, tell us when you ask for setup advice so we can suggest suitable spring rates.
Ride height and lowering

Does changing ride height make it firmer?
All 3 DGR series set ride height on the threaded body (Full Tap): the height is adjusted on the shock body itself, so changing it doesn’t change spring preload.
But a lower car may have less compression travel left. If the shock often reaches the bump stop, the ride will feel harsher. Our guide to ride height and comfort explains more.
How low can I go? Will the tyres rub or the car scrape?
It depends on the car, wheel size, tyre size and wheel offset. Each vehicle page will show the drop versus stock height once the manufacturer supplies the data.
The lower the car, the more likely the tyres rub the arches and the underside scrapes over bumps, and the less compression travel is left. Ask your installer to check tyre clearance after setting the height.
Damping adjustment

How many damping settings are there, and where should I start?
- ST and RC — 30 damping settings
- DCS-2 — 30 Rebound settings, plus 15 Compression settings on the adjuster on the external reservoir
Starting point: each vehicle page will show a recommended starting setting once the manufacturer supplies it. Until then, ask your installer or our team for a starting point, then adjust 2–3 settings at a time.
Installation

Where do I get it installed? Do I need an alignment or camber setting?
At an installer or dealer. DGR Thailand sells parts only and does not install.
Align the wheels after installation and after every height change, because ride height affects the wheel angles. RC and DCS-2 come with a Pillowball top mount and Camber Plate, so camber can be adjusted. The ST kit comes with the Standard top mount; the Pillowball mount is available as an add-on, at extra cost.
Will it clunk or squeak? (pillowball mounts)
A pillowball mount is stiffer than a rubber mount, so it generally passes more road noise and vibration into the cabin.
Unusual noises can also come from installation, such as bolt torque or a loose lock ring. Ask your installer to check first. If you think a part is faulty, contact our after-sales team on DGR Thailand’s LINE Official account.
Warranty, claims and rebuilds

How long does it last? When is a rebuild needed, and what does it cost?
Service life depends on how you drive, road conditions and care, so we don’t quote a fixed figure.
Signs that a technician should take a look: oil running down the shock body, unusual noises, bouncing that wasn’t there before, or a change in ride height.

How long is the warranty? Where do I claim?
1 year from the installation date. Register your warranty after installation and make claims through our after-sales team on DGR Thailand’s LINE Official account.
The team inspects the details and tells you whether the car should come to our workshop or a technician will be sent. Service fees, such as travel and labour, are charged separately.
Buying, fitment and genuine products

Is it genuine? Is this shop authorised? Is there a kit for my car?
DGR (Thailand) is DGR Taiwan’s exclusive distributor for Thailand. Kits bought from unauthorised sellers may not be covered by our warranty.
Check a shop on our dealer verification page, and check your car on the vehicle search. If your car isn’t listed, send it to us and we will check with the manufacturer.
How do coilovers compare with lowering springs on stock shocks, or modified stock shocks?
A coilover kit (adjustable suspension kit) is a matched set of shocks and springs with adjustable ride height, and every DGR series also has adjustable damping.
With lowering springs on stock shocks, you can’t adjust ride height or damping, and the stock shocks were designed for the stock springs and ride height.

How is DGR different from other suspension brands?
We don’t compare ourselves with other brands, because every brand has different specifications and terms. What we can state clearly about DGR:
- Designed and made by DGR Taiwan, with parts CNC machined in-house
- TOTAL shock oil · KOYO bearings · SAE9254 springs · 6061‑T6 aluminium (per the manufacturer)
- 1-year warranty from the installation date, supported in Thailand by the exclusive distributor
